Oona Doherty - Performance Program

16 August 2025 / 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. / free admission

A full-day performance course in all six venues of Kunstmeile Hamburg in cooperation with Internationales Sommerfestival Kampnagel.

With an intense movement language and choreographies that depict a departure from a crisis-ridden world, Oona Doherty (*1986) has become a star of the European dance scene. After winning the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2021 and several summer festival appearances, most recently in 2022 with the world premiere of NAVY BLUE, the Northern Irish choreographer is now performing at all six venues of Kunstmeile Hamburg. These performances showcase the full range of her artistic work, which includes theatre, music and art in addition to dance. Doherty relates parts of her previous works to the individual locations and initiates a choreographic dialogue with the visual arts, which the audience can explore throughout the day in all the venues of the Kunstmeile: from feminist responses to Hans Makart's salon painting in the Kunsthalle, a duet to Katharina Grosse's expansive works in the Deichtorhallen, to a grand final choreography in the Kunstverein.

At the Sommerfestival, Doherty will be seen not only in cooperation with the Kunstmeile Hamburg, but also with her latest stage work SPECKY CLARK and an installation in the Kampnagel foyer.

Please note: Admission is free. However, in the event of large crowds, admission may be restricted, especially in smaller venues.
