In and Out of Place. Land after Information 1992 – 2024

In and Out of Place. Land after Information 1992 - 2024 originates in an artistic examination of land and soil, ongoing since documenta IX (1992). Against the background of reunification, an accelerated information economy and emerging multi­–perspectivity, the exhibition seeks to bring into dialogue historical and contemporary positions arising from the dissolving relationship between periphery and centre. The Kunstverein assembles positions whose common concern is to examine the connections between land and its translation as a carrier of resources and culture in the medium of art. They are works that stand in different proximities to dealing with, knowing about and processing land.
